On Sunday, Sept. 8, Swift giddily hugged Brittany at the US Open as she attended the event with her beau Travis Kelce. Brittany’s husband Patrick Mahomes, who is also Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate, was also in attendance.
After Swifties saw the photo of Swift and Brittany’s enthusiastic hug, they shared their thoughts on the public association, with many writing how “disappointed” they were with Swift. In response to the photo, one fan wrote, “disappointed but not surprised atp,” while another referenced Swift’s PR rep, Tree Paine, saying, “tree paine can you handle this please mama.”
A top-liked response to the photo read, “taylor girl that’s not very miss americana of you like how can you stand to be around someone like that,” referring to Swift’s 2020 documentary called Miss Americana, in which she talked about the responsibility she felt to “be on the right side of history” before endorsing President Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
